The Good Ol Hockey Game

Ah yes, the Olympics. More specifically, mens hockey. For Years these two nations have been at constant war... on the ice that is. Ever since that fateful Summit Series, that 1987 Canada Cup and all other battles for hockey supremacy, these two juggernauts of hockey have never left anyone wondering if any meeting between these two great nations could have been more entertaining.

And A few days ago was no different: It was Canada Vs Russia in the Olympic Quarter Finals in Italy. Canada came in as the defending Olympic champions and having not lost too Russia in their last 3 meetings. Russia on the other hand came into the game having the better record and a goalie with a better save percentage.

Both teams played an exceptional game. The score was 0-0 through 2 periods till Russia scored early in the third and once more late in the last periode, giving them the win with a score of 2-0 and also the right to move onto the semi finals.

Ah yes, Team Canada lost. However, they couldnt have lost to a better nation. A nation that respects hockey as much as any Canadian. With that said I have one last thing to say:

Go Russia Go!
